What should I wear? I would recommend wearing solid colors or simple patterns and layering! Try to avoid neon colors, as they will reflect easily and cause skin discoloration. Try to avoid crazy patterns that may go out of style as well. If there are multiple people in the photos, try not to match exactly. Simple color coordination is the way to go!
Do you have suggestions for locations? Your own backyard is a great place to start! I love photo sessions in natural settings. Public parks and fields work well. If you have friends that have beautiful property that you would like to use, I would encourage you to ask them! I also use downtown areas frequently, especially for senior sessions. I want to make your session as personal to you as possible, and that includes location.
Do you travel for destination weddings? Yes! I have a serious travel bug. I am willing to go all over North Carolina (and beyond, of course!) to spend time with you and have you in front of my camera. travel costs do apply for all types of sessions.
Do your Wedding Collections include a second shooter? Yes! It is absolutely necessary to have a second shooter for your wedding day. A second shooter can not only act as an assistant to me, but they also serve as a second pair of eyes. This ensures that we are capturing all the best angles of every part of your special day!
Can we have the unedited/RAW images from our session? I don't believe in delivering anything other than a refined, finished product. For this reason, I do not deliver RAW images or unedited JPEGS. Consider other artists such as painters and sculptors; they typically do not like to reveal their work until it is complete. Photographers are the same way! Also, unedited images can sometimes appear flat and not true to the scene. My goal is to enhance the setting and your own natural beauty.
When can we expect to see our photos? For portrait sessions, including senior sessions, no more than four weeks. For weddings, you can expect to see them in no more than eight weeks.
What do I do when I'm in front of the camera? Don't worry, I will give you direction once we get going! My goal is to make you feel comfortable in front of my camera from the start of our shoot.
